Why should you get started in the non-business of Homebrewing?

Well first, it’s fun and easy to do. And after a short fermentation period, you’ll be able to enjoy the fruits of your labor.

Another reason to begin homebrewing. Another is the fact that when compared to commercial beers, your
creation is pure – there are no artificial colors or any added
preservatives. Your brew is only malt extract from
natural grains, flavor from hop flowers, some sugar and yeast.

And importantly the main ingredient is: Clean, clear water.

When you homebrew, and you crack open a bottle of your own
homemade beer, you will notice how much better it tastes – how
the flavors are richer, how the feel on your tongue is more
authentic, and how refreshing it is to drink. Few commercially
prepared beer can boast that.

Perhaps the best reason to be homebrewing is simply:  What better way
to impress friends, work colleagues and family than to offer them your very own  homebrewed beer? Your friends will be amazed and demand to know how you did it.

It’s probably just me, but I really don’t get it!  Not twitter, I mean hey, post some updates about current stuff and then hit them with your crappy affiliate promo and business will just follow, right?.. Not from me!!

I’m having a good time this afternoon, just circular filing those folks who are posting 3 – 8 updates in a row: quotes, motivational junk, inside jokes with each other and all of a sudden I’m back to those 160 or so who really have something worthwhile to offer!

As I said, I’m likely all wet, but it’s become just another chat site – boring, boring, boring. Tweet me if you want, but I’m going back to the book I was reading and then I’m going after some good traffic for my new blogsite.  I know I’ll never hit 1000, hell, I’ll be doing fine if I live to see 500!

One of the problems entrepreneurs face is keeping track of what needs to be done, and avoiding being distracted by newer  ”shiny” products.  Do you remember what Curly said;  ”..it’s about ONE thing”!  So, just remember what you need to get done now, and DO IT now… take some ACTION today.

Simply spending time reading emails or watching video guides will not ever get you closer to your goals, the whole process of your business success is about action.  Recently, I bought a great (and inexpensive) bit of software that has literally transformed how I approach my work.  Called The Action Machine, it simply allows you to allocate time to each task you wish to attack, then counts down the time and records your daily activities for you.  Schedule 15 minutes for email and correspondence, then 60 minutes for writing copy, then 45 minutes for marketing, etc. and amazingly, stuff starts to get completed!  How nice is that?

You might like it if she didn’t jump up or go nuts when UPS comes to the door, or just lie down when you’re having dinner… whatever it might be, if the faithful friend is not obedient, other folks might not love her as much as you do.

Nice evening – just finished dinner with my wife and daughter, sitting back for my 30 minute Seinfeld re-run fix when the phone rang …7:45 pm.. and it was some arrogant nit pushing a well-known internet marketing “great deal”!  Allready not good, so I said “this is not a good time” (my bad!) and the caller of course responded “well when would be a good time”?

I said, “look, i don’t buy ANYTHING over the phone, send me something”.  The response ” well what do you want me to send”?  This was going nowhere very fast – “Listen to me, go away, don’t call again, you’re bothering me – am I being understood”?

So now I’m thinking about this, wondering how I could ever have been dumb enough to leave my real phone number with these people.  There is a valuable lesson or two here though: call at an appropriate time if you must, ask for permission, have a very quick message and then get the hell off the phone!

Even at that, phone solicitations are just a plain bad idea – it’s 2009, not 1982 – just send me an email or a postcard or post a video.

Whether you’re a “newbie” or somewhat more experienced, let me ask you, is your desk littered with scraps of paper, posties and other remindeers about the “how-to’s” for getting your business idea online and to market?  How about not only getting some good help, while also learning how to make money too?

For me this clutter has been a big problem, because when I went to retrieve instructions for blogging, or HTML or RSS, and all those necessary details for putting a product on the internet had somehow managed to disappear when I needed them the most!
